Assaf Hinden combines photography, collages, video, and time-based technologies alongside objects and relics from public and private archives. Through these, he examines the authenticity of photography as a documentary-testimonial authority. In the work “Darkroom”, Hinden photographed an old notebook belonging to his grandfather, then manipulated the image using collage and other technologies to construct an architectural model. Hinden’s work has been exhibited at Fotomuseum Winterthur, the Benaki Museum, Photoforum Pasquart, the Ramat Gan Museum of Art, Photo Museum of Antwerp, and Braverman Gallery, among other institutions.
